We’re absolutely thrilled, honoured and delighted to announce that the Geese and Fountain has been awarded ‘Leicestershire Pub of the Year’ by the members of the Vale of Belvoir CAMRA branch.
Having only been open a year and a half, to be awarded the title so soon after opening is a huge honour, and everyone involved with the pub says ‘thank you’ to the CAMRA members who nominated and voted for us, and who help keep the pub running by supporting us all year round. Nick Holden, who opened the pub eighteen months ago with his partner, Kate Ahrens, said this morning, “Without the support of local members of CAMRA we wouldn’t be able to do what we do – and the pub is crucial to the life of our village. We support local breweries, employ local people and provide a social venue for many, many others. To have all that, and the quality of our excellent real ales, recognised by CAMRA, is very rewarding.”
The Vale of Belvoir CAMRA branch membership secretary, Ed Taylor, told members “we are pleased to announce that the Vale of Belvoir CAMRA Leicestershire Pub of the Year 2017 is The Geese & Fountain, Croxton Kerrial. Congratulations to Nick and his team, who were our top Leicestershire pub on every metric. They go through to the Leicestershire Pub of the Year competition, and we wish them well.”
There will be a presentation evening soon, and all our customers, old and new, will be welcome to join us for a night of celebration. And beer!
