Let us treat your mother on Mother’s Day

Everyone wants to treat their mum to something special on mother’s day. Bring yours to the Geese and Fountain for Sunday lunch on mother’s day, and we’ll do our bit to help make her feel special from start to finish of her meal.

Every mother dining with us on March 6th will be greeted with a free glass of organic Perla Frizzante prosecco on arrival, and receive a free dessert at the end of their meal too. Soft drinks can be taken as an alternative if preferred.

Although it’s a special day, there’s no need for special prices. We’re charging our usual Sunday lunch prices for mother’s day – just £14.50 for two courses, £18.50 for three. Locally reared roast meats, or award winning vegetarian sausages, will be accompanied by delightfully prepared seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, roast and mashed potatoes, and all the trimmings. Children’s menu also available, if your little ones don’t like roast dinners.

Reserve a table now on 01476 870350. You don’t want to disappoint your mum, now, do you?

Cider and Six Nations – the perfect combination?

We’ve just taken another delivery from Rob at the Bottle Kicking Cider Company in Hallaton, Leicestershire. So alongside our old favourite Scrummage, we now offer the lighter (4.5% ABV) Full Back, as well as the traditional dry Spalding Scrumpy from Trev Churchill at Churchill Ciders in Lincolnshire, and the slightly sweeter Hibernate and Nice Pear (featuring a blend of apple and pear ciders) from Scrumpy Wasp in Nottinghamshire.

As if that wasn’t enough, we have bottled ciders galore.

Give the gift of Geese (and Fountain)

We’ve been asked a few times recently whether we can provide gift vouchers for people wanting to treat friends or family to a meal. You can now give a gift of a ‘Geese and Fountain’ voucher, for either meals or drinks (or both) up to whatever value you desire.

So if you know someone who loves great food, interesting beer or delicious organic wine, pop in to the pub to pick up a gift voucher and allow them to indulge themselves. There are no additional charges, you just pay the face value of the voucher, and the recipient can choose what to spend it on, with no limitations. And if they want to splash out a little more extravagantly, it’s no problem to just top up the value of the voucher with cash or a card payment.

Any questions, just get in touch.

Take home beer

The Geese and Fountain now offer “take home beer”on all our real ales. And it will save you money!

Simply buy one of our reusable glass “growlers” (German beer engineering at is absolute best, much better for the beer – and the environment – than cardboard cartoons or plastic bottles) for £8.

Fill it with your choice of real ale at the bargain price of £5 for a litre of beer, approximately 2 pints. That’s a saving of around 80p per pint. After you’ve used it five times, the growler has paid for itself, and after that you’re saving money every time you take beer home.

Because of the airtight seal, the beer will keep well for a few days (if you can resist the temptation to just drink it when you get home).
