Twelve Gifts of Christmas: 6 – Gluten-free Beers

For too long, people with coeliac disease and other gluten intolerances had to stick to cider if they wanted a pint. But recently several breweries have introduced gluten-free beers that haven’t sacrificed taste or quality in order to remove the gluten.

Here at the Geese and Fountain we offer a wide range of bottled and canned beers, and several of them are gluten-free. From Brewdog’s hoppy Vagabond Pale Ale, to Stringer’s Outlook Dark, with everything in between, whether you want a fruity IPA, a golden classic ale or a dark marmalade-infused porter, then we’ve got a beer for you that won’t upset your stomach.

Having a gluten intolerance doesn’t need to spoil anyone’s Christmas, and thanks to these beers, you now have the perfect present for anyone you know who is trying to avoid gluten.

Twelve Gifts of Christmas: 5 – Christmas Spiced Vodka

Specially for the Christmas Season, our friends at Two Birds Spirits have created the most wonderful version of their vodka – after distillation it is left for a few days to infuse with a blend of mixed spices, cloves, dried fruit, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Just delicious, on its own or mixed with your choice of Fever Tree tonics.

Two Birds Christmas Spiced Vodka will be on our shelves for a limited period only, and 20cl gift bottles are now available for £15.50.

Twelve Gifts of Christmas: 4 – Burleigh’s Gin Tasting tickets

Sometimes the best Christmas gifts come early. Why not surprise that special someone with a ticket to our Burleigh’s Gin Tasting on Wednesday, December 21st? It’s the perfect way to start your festive season.

Tickets for the gin tasting are £15, including a fascinating presentation from Henry Yates of Burleigh’s Gin, Loughborough, with tastings of a variety of Burleigh’s gins, and two free Burleigh’s Gin and Tonics are included in the price.

For the rest of the evening there’ll be a special price on all Gin, and we’re also offering a 10% discount on dinner bookings that evening as well as a further 10% off Bed and Breakfast if you’d like to make a night of it. Nothing says “merry Christmas” like an early present, so get in quick while tickets are still available.

Twelve Gifts of Christmas: 3 – Wild Weather Ales

We’ve heard so many exciting things about the Wild Weather Ales brewery, that we just had to try some of their beers for ourselves. And when we did, we realised that we needed to have some in stock as soon as possible.

So just in time for Christmas, we’re proud to present:
Storm In A Teacup – 6% Earl Grey IPA
Little Wind – 4.2% American Amber
Mudslinger – 5.5% Chocolate Milk Stout

They’re all amazing, and we’re offering a special Christmas gift set of two of each can, in their fantastic artwork, for £18. Normal price is £3.90 per 330ml can. Offer price only available during December 2016.

Twelve Gifts of Christmas: 2 – delicious vodkas

And now you can buy a 20cl bottle of one of them for just £12.95. It makes a perfect Christmas present for someone you really like a lot. A new flavour – Christmas Spiced Vodka – is arriving this week.

And they fit beautifully into a stocking.

Twelve Gifts of Christmas: 1 – gift vouchers

We’ll be posting twelve Christmas gift suggestions for your nearest and dearest over the next twelve days. Let’s start with the most straightforward, but also the most flexible: Geese and Fountain gift vouchers.

Available for any amount you wish to specify, the recipients can redeem their voucher for payment (or part payment) for drinks, meals or even a Bed & Breakfast stay. Available to purchase all year round, they make ideal Christmas presents for someone you’d like to treat to a night out or a weekend away at their convenience. There’s no expiration date so they can be saved to be used when the time is right.
