Here we are on Tuesday evening, and we’ve just about recovered from the excitement of our first weekend serving food. Overall we’re very pleased, and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who came to eat with us for your patience while we ironed out a few teething problems.
Huge credit must go to new chef Ollie McEwen, who dished up some truly delicious food on the back of actually very little sleep last week. Thanks, Ollie, you’re a star. Also to all the waiting staff and kitchen help we had working for us – thanks for coping so well with so many new things to learn.
If you did eat with us, we hope you enjoyed the experience and loved the food. We are grateful for all the feedback we received at the time, both good and not so good, and we’d still be pleased to hear from you if you have any comments or suggestions on how we could improve. We like compliments too, so feel free to tell us how much you enjoyed your meal – but the criticisms are so useful as they help us identify areas to improve.
For us, we were really pleased with the quality of the food all weekend, but slightly less pleased by the ‘experience’ we were able to offer. We’d like to be quicker to serve you, and more attentive at your table, than we managed to be – that’s down to us being better organised and better prepared so that things run more smoothly.
Now we’re busy planning for this week, and the weeks to come. We will be serving our full evening menu from Wednesday through to Saturday this week, as well as breakfasts and lunches every day. We’re lining up some more lovely locally sourced meat for this Sunday’s roasts as well.
If you’d like to join us for dinner or Sunday lunch, please give us a ring on 01476 870350 to book a table.
